Is Democracy Now?

“Is Democracy Now?” is a physical and virtual platform of enquiry into the state of democracy in the 21st century. We invite the public to exercise its democratic right to rant. We welcome high emotions, invective, grand gestures, big feelings, indulgence in the democratic act of free expression. Based on principals of democracy, the project functions as a switchboard, a marketplace and creative commons of ideas exchange, a forum for critical reflection, debate and play. The project is a mobile public artwork and web archive that invites opinions from frivolous to intensely serious. We pilot this project in this year of US elections, then travel abroad to countries where democracy is beginning or flourishing and archive the present moment through public rants
